Mac Pro Longwear Foundation

Good Afternoon lovely readers! I thought I'd break my review dry spell with this little beauty, the Mac Pro Longwear Foundation (that and it's a good excuse for avoiding revision!). I mentioned in my lust list post (here) that my friend Laura actually shocked me on a night out by her flawless foundation (not even an exaggeration, I'm sad!) So much so that I knew I had to try a Mac foundation. She used the Studio Fix fluid but after some research and the Mac foundation test (which you can try here), I got matched with the Pro Longwear foundation.

Now as a broke student, my dream of walking into Debenhams to buy this beauty was long off, however my lovely boyfriend said he'd treat me to a bottle as a reward for finishing my dissertation (this boy is a keeper). So I practically ran to the Mac concession to pick it up. I had a bit of trouble choosing between shades NC15 and NW20 so the lovely staff suggested I take away samples of each, see how I get on and if I don't like the shade or finish I could bring it back. So that's exactly what I did and left Debenhams with a bottle, two samples and a big cheesy grin on my chops.

What did I find? Well, countless reviews said this foundation was not good for dry skinned people. I figured my skin was normal with an oily T-zone so would be suitable for my skin. Wrong! Turns out I have combination skin (how annoying). So as everybody suggested, this foundation was just too drying for me. It wasn't initially really drying when I used the samples, but a day or two passed it got drier and harder to blend in. This is probably due to the fact that unlike most highstreet foundations, this one sets. If you leave it into contact with air too much it's going to start to set in the tub, which is exactly what happened. As for the longevity, it does exactly what it says on the skin. It stayed on my skin all day and while it did cling to my dry skin areas, my T-zone was flawless all day. The finish was actually flawless and any products you put on top are going to stay put. The thing I liked most about it was that when touching my face, it didn't feel like I had foundation on at all.

So the moral of the story is while I took it back due to it not getting along with my dry skin (grr), for all you oily skinned gals (and guys) this foundation will be a dream come true for you. It currently sells for £25.00 and you can pick it up directly from the Mac website here or from Debenhams concessions. Have you tried it? If so what did you think? Let me know in the comments below!

My Spring Picks

Hello lovely readers! Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, I am literally swamped with revision (excuses, I know!). I decided that I haven't given my obsessive online shopping addiction enough attention lately and thought I'd have a browse. Before I knew it I found myself seeing outfits fall together. Mainly from New Look (no surprise there then) and River Island. Apologies for the bad picture quality, for some reason they just wouldn't clear up. Anywho, here's my top pics!

Light Blue V Neck Cami £9.99
34in White Supersoft Skinny Jeans £19.99
 White Colourblock Winged Satchel £22.99
Black Ankle Strap Open Toe Heels £29.99

I've recently found my mind wandering to thoughts of my couples holiday this summer (Haven't even booked anywhere yet but still) and what I'd wear to the airport. This little outfit struck me as the perfect thing that you could also wear for spring. These little cami tops are everywhere and are a cheap way to add a colour injection to anyone's wardrobe.

Coral Daisy Print Cap Sleeve Swing Dress £17.99
Light grey double strap barely there sandals £45.00
Gold and Red Contrast Enamel Torque Necklace £4.99
White Pearlised Snakeskin Paperbag Clutch £12.99

How cute is this little dress! I saw it and instantly saw it paired with a little clutch and heels for a cute everyday outfit. For those of you who don't like wearing heels in the day (I.e me) you could swap the gorgeous heels for some little white flip flops or pumps. You could also put some tights under this beauty and throw on a blazer and ta-daa, you have a perfect outfit for drinks. I love it when an item of clothing works with everything!

Monochrome Palm Leaf Print Cut Out Back Peplum Top £14.99
White Colour Block Twist Lock Clutch £15.99
Yellow toe cap pointed court shoes £50.00
Black Belted Slim Leg Trousers £17.99

I am IN LOVE with this outfit. You could get away with wearing this for work, or swap the trousers for some skinny jeans and you have an everyday outfit with a pop of colour. Don't even get me started on how much I need that clutch bag in my life! I can also see myself using it with black dressed to add an injection of colour but also a bright yellow dress for summer with a tan and black accessories! You see how easily I would spend my wages!

Anyway, now I've got a little bit of my obsessive online shopping subdued, I'm not going to look at makeup and get obsessive over some of that (if I haven't already). As you can see I have a problem but I'm working on it (that's a lie). Have a lovely day and let me know in the comments below some of your spring picks!
