My Pamper Evening

Happy Sunday readers, I hope you've had a nice and relaxing day! So it's a Sunday evening, Monday blues are already seeping in and my skin and hair need some TLC. So, I just had to treat myself to an evening of pampering and preening (like I needed any excuse). You can see from my oh so attractive photo above that I enjoyed the whole process probably a little bit too much. I feel like i've had one of those weeks that don't have any real reason to be bad, but I wouldn't consider them to be a good one. Does anyone else have weeks like this? Anyway I'm feeling so chilled out and relaxed now I thought I'd natter your heads off and let you know what I've been getting up to and my disastrous hair appointment. Prepare for a longgg blog post!

So I have mentioned in previous blog posts about my intention to go back to my natural blonde. I will tell you that despite only ever using semi-permanent hair dye, I have had such a game trying to get the dye out! I first used a Colour B4 colour remover the day before my hairdressing appointment. i'd been told by the hairdresser to book before Friday (which was the day of my appointment) to ensure they could order in some hair stripper. I did so and arrived at my hair appointment all excited to become a blonde again only to discover they hadn't ordered any in! They could do absolutely nothing to my hair so I had got all excited, had told practically everyone about it only to be left disappointed.

However, not one to be deterred I went to four different hair dressers asking about prices and their advice about the whole process. All agreed that I should have highlights but were way too expensive, some said to try bleach baths while others strongly advised against. I got so fed up that I decided to just go ahead and get a bleach bath with the intention of living with whatever happened. Luckily, the hairdresser was lovely, the process didn't take long and I did notice some lightening of my hair. Plus, it only cost £30 and the condition of my hair afterwards was no where near as bad as some had told me it would be.

My next steps on my road to blonde-hood (I totally made that up) is a month of deep conditioning and top hair care before another bleach bath. In the mean time, I am using head and shoulders on the darker sections of my hair to help lift the colour even more, then washing with the Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends shampoo and conditioner (pictured above). The hair masque I've been using is the Loreal Elvive Full Restore 5 Hair Masque which has done wonders with my ends! At first I really didn't think it had done anything but now it's fully dried it feels amazing. I definitely cannot recommend using it enough. Luscious locks here we come!

While sat with my hair masque on, I applied the Montagne Jeunesse Face Masque that I'd heard bloggers rave about. My face smelt amazing and my skin has felt oh so soft since using it. I will be personally offended if you don't treat your face to this, it's only £1.00! My whole body has been practically smothered in Palmers Cocoa butter which, in my opinion, is the best skin moisturizer. And finally, i've also painted my toe nails and given myself a manicure and now I truly feel like a princess! If you've had a naff week, give yourself an evening of pampering, you will feel a million dollars I promise. For me, I'm going to get myself snuggled up in bed and continue reading Memoirs of a Geisha which is my all time favourite book (alongside The Great Gatsby).

If you've got any hair tips I will be eager to hear them so leave them in the comments below! Also here's to us all having a week that's been better than this one and to enjoy Valentines Day this Friday, eek! As always, it's been a pleasure.

  1. Omg I've seen those masques but I've never tried any! I love pamper evenings, specially on a Sunday night — they help you go to work / uni on Monday fully rested!
